Transitions in Action

Produced for the Architecture School of Future Environments at AUT as part of Building Better Homes, Towns and Cities National Science Challenge – the Challenge aims to improve the quality and supply of housing and create smart and attractive urban environments.

From the back cover:

“This Guide maps projects to an urban regenerative action compass, a transition tool that communicates actions for mauri ora – social, cultural and ecological wellbeing. In presenting examples of flaxroots regenerative work being done in Te Upoko o Te Ika Wellington, the Guide aims to support further change in other cities and urban communities throughout Aotearoa.”

The brief asked for a flexible layout to accomodate bold use of imagery in association with the existing compass graphic (to be featured at the start of each project) and a warm and vibrant colour pallet to create an 'inspiring and hopeful' look and feel. Verso worked in consultation with author Amanda Yates and editor Kylie Bailey, sourcing a number of images to work in with others already provided by the authors, and to produce the book through to final stage for print and online use.
