Piha Radar Station
Designed in alignment with Auckland Council’s brand, these signs are situated on the site of Phia’s World War II Radar Station. They are placed on plinths that echo the remnant concrete foundations of the station. In attendance at the launch in July 2015 was ex radar mechanic, Ian Sexton, now in his nineties, who had lived and worked at Piha Radar Station during World War II.
